Here is “Gordon” as a kitten and later as an adult (today) at the end of the video (15 months old). He was birthed by his mother in the rafters of a barn, and fell down from the nest, then he was taken in by us. Although his condition may be due to the fall, it has the symptoms of Feline Cerebellar Hypoplasia. It’s almost like his hind motor skills are separate from his front. As a kitten he would frequently flip over forward (seen once in the video).
We now nickname him “Dink” because on hard floors his deliberate footsteps are “dink, dink…” As an adult he is able to function fine, not all cats with this condition are so lucky. The only thing special about his care is blocking him from stairs to another level of the house with a baby gate. The more he is able to concentrate on his standing/walking/running, the better he is able to do. When his attention is diverted, that’s when he tends to fall over.
This cat is very people friendly brings us a lot of love. The black cat in the video is blind, and it’s the same story with him. Please give imperfect animals a chance!

If I’d have a cat like that I’d love&care her (or him) more than anything else

Thank you for giving these beautiful, loving animals a chance at life. I’d take one if I could afford to.

A lot of people might say it’s a bit scary or weird for people to post these videos, but i think it’s great to see the exposure, because those who see it will see these cats are just as fun or cute as any “normal” cat. Kudos

What a brave and sweet one. He grew up to be such a handsome, thriving boy.
My heart has always belonged to the “underdogs”
Rolling Dog Ranch rescue has many felines and canines with Cerebellar Hypoplasia…these amazing creatures need more champions.

I’m a shelter adopter. I have a very special kitty that came to us via the shelter. He needs extra effort to take care of, but he gives us lots of love. I’m glad he ended up with us instead of with a family that would have just seen him as too much trouble and dropped him off at the pound. I wish there were more responsible pet owners like you out there.

I would go out and adopt a pet right now….if I weren’t deathly allergic. Adorable video.

OMG that’s sooo sad, but at least you gave him another chance at life, same with the blind one. I love you for that.

Ch comes from a mother cat having the live vaccine for Panleuk while being pregnant. It causes the cerebellum in the kitten not to fully form in the kitten. Many CH kittens have different degrees of the disease. My CH kitten progressed quickly and only lived to four and a half years. Many live to old age. It depends on the degree of development and the severity of the trauma

Here’s hoping for a long and happy life for Gordon, we recently lost our CH cat Ben (see ‘My disabled cat Ben’ on Youtube). He was 14 years old and had a great life despite his disability.

I love people like you guys.
Someone offered us a cat outside of a walmart,
she was the only one.
We took her,
and she is such a brat today,
we moved cross country and we stayed at my boyfriends parents house for a couple of weeks,
she got pregnant, and had 6 kittens,
we are going to keep 4 of them,
and we are giving 2 to his parents.
But we are definitely getting her fixed now.
Haha.
