Jay asked:
I am writing a book, and it is a fictional fantasy book. I have this tribe in the story, they aren’t the cat women you see on Batman and in comic-books, they are actual half-women, half-cats, they have ****** features of cats, not silly like Cat In The Hat, they are serious and have features of cats. DC Comics have used a human catwoman, so have Marvel. They are two of the biggest rivals of the century, and my cat women are totally different to theirs. Do you think I would be ok to include feline ladies in my story?

Yes I think it would be okay. The only similarities seem to be the name.

You’re not writing a comic book, are you?
You will at some point (if you get close to publication; hopefully) write a disclaimer ‘Anything in this book resembling actual people or places is entirely coincidental etc.’ won’t you?
You will make your cat women be quite different from the comics in characterization, won’t you?
Then feline ladies can slink in where they will…

Shouldn’t be necessary. Cat women (as opposed to Cat Woman or Catwoman) are a fairly common element; you see it in comic books, science fiction (like the aforementioned Dr. Who), games, anime, manga, etc. Unless it is clear that you are ripping off Catwoman or something else, you should be fine.
